Cats Health Recommendation
- By Dr. Craig Miller -
Cats are very adept at hiding pain and sickness. Because of this, cats should be examined by a veterinarian at least once a year. When cats reach 10 years of age, they should be examined twice a year and have blood tests annually.
Signs that should prompt you to contact a veterinarian:
- Increase in drinking or urination
- Decrease in appetite
- Dramatic weight loss or gain
- Changes in attitude or grooming
- Unable to urinate (emergency situation)
- Activity changes (either increased or decreased)
- Inappropriate urination or defecation (not in the litter box)
- Increased vocalizing
